The Finnish Association for Mental Health warmly invites you to the CRISP Partnership seminar discussing the Right to parent, at Lapinlahti Hospital Auditorium in Helsinki, 10 October 2016, 10 am – 3:30 pm, on the World Day for Mental Health. Programme linked here
Transgenerational transmission of mental health problems is common. New research indicates there are effective ways of preventing this. The seminar aims to highlight the right to parenthood, parenting support and the right to a good childhood. The emphasis will be on new ways of involving and empowering service users, families and children. Presentations will be given by experts by experience and European researchers in the field of recovery and empowerment as well as peer and parenting support.
The seminar will be followed by the Swedish movie “Mamman Flickan och Demonerna (with English subtitles), a story about a young girl and her mother who suffers from mental health problems. Showtime is 4 pm.
